Just downloaded RMIR v. 2.08 build 5. It worked!
In my past life, I was a design engineer/manager in a small power supply company. We do custom designs for others. Besides making a good design, my goal was to document everything (especially when there is a problem), so 10 years down the ...

mathdon,
Just downloaded and tested RMIR v. 2.08 build 1. A little more testing.
1. All the rmir files before installing the extender has buffer address up to 1FDF0.
2. Loading the file "3-File-setup-online-max4095", into RMIR, I installed the extender. The resulting rmir file buffer address goes ...

Re: writeRemote returned -1
PS. Looks like the preview button in the post reply screen does not work.
It does work, but it has problems with certain non-standard characters. In this case, you were using non-standard double quotes. I just replaced them with standard double quotes and now you can preview your post.
Thanks, I ...

mathdon,
Thanks for your suggestion. I did try to modify the "4-File-setup-online-max4095-w ext.rmir" as you suggested, and it did successfully up loaded to the remote. And the remote still operates the 3 devices. The new files are saved and named "4a-File-setup-online-max4095-w ext-mod.rmir" and ...

you guys are fast! Thanks for everyone’s suggestion.
Did not have time to do much, just re-downloaded the extender, just in case the file was corrupted. Did not make a difference.

Setup codes out of range (fixed)/ writeRemote returned -1
Started years ago with a RS 15-1994 and IR. Graduated to 8811/10820 with extender and RMIR. Stopped for years since everything is OK.
Used up my last 10820. Found the OARUSB04G and got my hands on a new OARUSB04G-4000 (signature 257604). Follow mathdon's instruction to install the extender. I am ...

IR Codes for a Bidet seat
I am a long time JP1 user. We recently purchased 2 bidet seats (Clean sense 1500R), which are IR controlled.
However, when I used my ancient URC8011 (without extender) to try to learn the signal, nothing is learned. I meant, nothing is recorded, the learned memory remains empty.

RCRP05B vs RCRP05BR
Been on this forum a long-long time. Started with a RS1994, then to the URC8811 (with extender). The buttons on my 8811 remote (and the 2 spares) are starting to wear out, so thinking of getting some new remotes.
Question:
Is RCRP05BR the same thing as the RCRP05B?

In 2002, I had a 42 inch Panasonic monitor. It did have discrete aspect, but it was removed in later models.
I now have a 2009 54 inch V10, for that model, there is still a RS232 port on the TV (but not on the lower end models), and there is a full range of Text commands including discrete inputs ...

Onkyo 876 receiver interesting observation.
I have a Onkyo 876 receiver. In the process or programming the remote, I noticed some interesting behavior.
Say you want to play DVD, which is connected to the receiver. You usually program a macro that:
1. turns on the receiver
2. pause about 2 seconds
3. switch the receiver input to DVD ...
