Turns out I have a bad remote. I have three of these RCRP05Bs. Two of them work but this one won't connect. The remote works properly to control all of my devices but I can't download the data off of it.

I should also have added that when I try to download from the remote, the "CBL" button my RCRP05B blinks. Also it blinks when I plug the cable into it.

No remotes found...

Hi everyone! I haven't needed to do anything to my remote for the past 6 years ( I checked my last post!). I'm happy to find that this forum is still active.

I am trying to get RMIR working on my new PC and I keep getting "no remotes found." It's Windows 10. My JP1 cable is a serial cable that I ...

39mSec? That's an exercise left to the reader :D Note that standard OrtekMCE uses a lead-out of 49mSec, according to DecodeIR.html[/quote]

So I changed this down to 9ms and it is a lot more responsive. The RCA responds a lot more like the Ortek does. At 49ms, it is still difficult to use because it ...

Thanks 3FG! That worked great.

So one last question...how does AD D4 = 89ms and 5F B4 = 49ms?

And what if I want to take it down to 39ms?

delay in button presses

Hi everyone. I am trying to get my RCRP05B set up to work with my HTPC.

I have an Ortek VRC-1000 that I am using to teach the directional functions to my RCRP05B. I was partially successful. Some of the directions are OK but at least one of them is prone to behaving like a long button press. (If I ...

Thanks, 3FG! That fixed it. Thanks for being patient on this. One other thing I noticed is that I had to shut down RemoteMaster and restart it before the change to the rdf file took effect.

I tried changing this line

Protocol=01 ED

to

Protocol=01ED:uei

and then to

Protocol=01 ED:uei

But it didn't work either way. I modified the file, then went to the "devices" tab of RMIR and then pressed the "open" button. I loaded the modified RDMU file, but it never loads the data into the ...

I did try opening it in notepad. I didn't see "01ED" in there. I did see "01 ED".

So should I replace "01 ED" with "01 ED:uei"?

Edit an RDF file

I am trying to load the Ortev VRC-1100 upgrade to my RCA RCRP05B. There's a note on the page for the file download that says that I need to edit the RDF.

How do I edit that? I opened the file with Remotemaster and all of the fields that show "01ED" are grayed out and can't be edited.

Link to ...

Turns out it wasn't a waste after all. The ebay seller was cool about sending me a new cable. I clipped the wire to pin 5 and now it works properly.

That appears to be the problem. Plus, when I opened the connector to see if wire 5 was attached to the board (it was) I found that the solder for wire 6 had broken off. I clipped wire 5 and clamped wire 6 in place on the board and I was able to download from the remote. Don't think I can solder that ...

RM-IR says "No remotes found!"

Hi everyone. I am just getting started with JP1 and I keep getting "No remotes found!" from RM-IR. Am I doing something wrong here?

I bought this cable:

I followed the instructions for RM-IR on the ...
