On the RCRP05BR the code for TCL Roku TVs is 2049. It is not listed in the included code list as these remotes came out in 2009. 2049 is the same code for Dynex and Insignia TVs.

RCA RCRP05BR Alternative ?

I am down to just two of RCA RCRP05BR remotes. Would like to stock up on an alternative JP1 learning remote with macro since these are now hard to find. Any affordable and nice looking ones ?

I tried that already by using the RCRP05BR to learn from the RCR311B and it does not work. It's either volume/channels or navigational the RCRP05BR picks up from the RCR311B. This is why this is a mystery to me on why the arrow keys work in both screens with the RCRP05BR on the Viewsonic.

All three ...

If that was true, I used the RCR311B on the LG and Samsung just to see if that was the case and both the menu and volume/channel functions worked with just the arrow navigation keys. I can understand on the RCR311B if I pressed the menu key it somehow toggles the arrow keys from being the volume ...

RCRP05BR Arrow Keys Toggle

I am stuck on why I was able to get the arrow keys to toggle in both menu screen and volume/channel on the default screen on my Viewsonic TV, but unable to do so on my Samsung and LG TVs.

If I recalled I did the exact same thing by programming the direct code first and it would toggle in the menu ...

This never crossed my mind that I can use a combination of pre-programmed codes along with the upgrade codes - Thanks !

The XSight remotes are still expensive, people will op for the Harmony remotes because they are more popular and ubiquitous.

I guess the only way is for hifi-remote to have their own online database that can be uploaded to a remote like the larger brands. The current method of trying to finding ...

Thanks ! ;)
Very helpful especially for the NEO X6 and X8 series since you cannot turn the unit back on after in sleep mode with the RF air mouse anymore. I programmed a macro on my RCRP05BR to turn my X8-H On/Input/volume all with a single press of a button.

I just tried that, I can get the OBC and Hex from a Learned code, but how do you get the EFC ?

If you paste either OBC, Hex, or EFC into RM, RM will calculate the other two. You should also get the protocol and device information, which should verify agrees with the other codes you found in the ...

Would it be possible to extract the Dash(-) or other functions out of a Learned key from the original remote ?

Sorry to butt in, but every now and then a question comes up here that I can answer.

Yep. That's exactly how it's done. If you have the OEM remote, then you can learn the code ...

Nearly all of our files work on any JP1 remote. Just pick your model in the list on the main tab.

Preprogrammed codes can't be converted directly to device upgrades on your model remote. Forget about those codes and just start with a similar model upgrade that you find in our file section.

I'd ...

I don't understand how some of these files I downloaded from the update section are in txt format. How do I convert these txt files into rmdu format and upload them to the remote ?
The .txt files were produced using a predecessor of RM (RemoteMaster) called KM (KeymapMaster). RMIR and RM can load ...

How to Upload Codes ?

Ok I guess I should refine my question since there are no responses ...LoL
This is my first attempt to program the remote using RMIR via the FTDI cable.

Should I program my RCRP05BR first with the known device codes and then use the RMIR/FTDI cable to change anything that I require or is there a ...
