Workaround
Well, I have discovered that "Menu" turns the FIOS CHS box "ON".
So, to turn the FIOS ON, I press "Menu, Exit"
.. if FIOS is ON already, the Menu pops up and then exits quickly
.. if FIOS is OFF, it powers on and the exit does nothing
And for OFF, I press "Menu, Power".

PH7 ... Roger that ... Codes were reversed.
Can now power on and power off with discrete codes.
All is well.
Will continue this dialogue if I run into further stumbling blocks with my other devices.
Thank you!

AHHH .. I'm getting there
Thank you for the clarification and detail.
I can now tap Setup and use the EFCs to power cycle the TV, open the TV menu, etc etc. That all seems to work fine.
As you implied, the discrete codes for ON/OFF don't work, so I will now

Not Working
So I programmed the remote with device code 0812 for the Samsung
TV. That appears to be the right code as all the buttons work.
I then hit the TV device button, Hold Setup until it blinks twice and release,
then I enter 00001. The TV responds with "Not Available".
If I do a Table Lookup, I can't ...

Programming RCRP05BR
So, I have purchased the remote.
What is the sequence for programming a button with an EFC?
The EFC code provided from the last post was "00001" for a discrete
ON on the Samsung Plasma 51" TV noted in the prior post.
Can somebody help on this?

your reply
Your reply is a bit murky, but my set top box is a Verizon CHS 435.
I think I get your explanation. I have to purchase the learning remote - so I will reply again when I have taken the next step.
Thank you for replying !!
