My primary goal is to get RemoteMaster properly built as Arch Linux package. To do this, I have to write a so-called "PKGBUILD" which does the building and finally the packaging including properly registering the new application so a new application icon gets added to the applications list.

Usually ...

My plan was to get basic understanding how the software works. I'm developer myself.

If "RemoteMaster" really is "open source", then I thought that sourcecode for every part should be "somewhere".

Is this one here up-to-date?

Thanks for offering your help, but after some trying, I managed to create a working update file.

Device is "Grundig CD 360"

I've also created a full update file for my Yamaha AV Receiver (model that isn't in your update database so far)

I'm also nearly done with a PKGBUILD for Arch Linux which ...

How to convert learned RC5 code to update?

Hello,

I tried to convert my learned keys to an upgrade several times, but I keep failing.

In the "Learned keys" tab, the codes are detected as "RC5".

If I try to directly convert them automatically, then I have to select a code. I choosed "RC-5".

The resulting update is broken and doesn't work ...

Where to find source code for "ExtInstall.jar"

Hello,

I'm trying to compile "RemoteMaster" from source.

While verifying every part of the source code, I came over "ExtInstall.jar".

I wasn't able to find the source code for this file.

Can someone please point me into the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

Can't connect RMIR with my FTDI adapter

Hello,

In the "Remote -> Interface" menu, I have:

Auto detect
CommHID
JP2BT
JPS

That's all.

I want to use an FTDI based serial adapter. Which option is right?

I've bought this one:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 1018491139
It has the RTS line.
But now it will take some time until I receive this item from China.

You say, that RTS is required for JP1.4. Does this mean that the pinout is also different for JP1.4 remotes?

I found this posting:

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=104893#104893

And the right signal for "Reset" seems to be "RTS". Will some other signal work for "Reset", too? Many FTDI adapters out there only have "DTR" exposed. Can I use "DTR" for "Reset"?

Yes, this is the remote. There seem to be two versions of this. Mine is the R01 version, but I don't know if there is any difference in programming between the two possible models.

I need a JP1.3 cable which can be easily ordered from germany. So I think the easiest way would be to use an USB UART ...

That's great!

So I think at first we have to find out if it works with my remote and which cable I'll need.

My remote is a URC 11-7140 R01

Under the battery cover, there is a 6-pin connector. I unscrewed the four screws to be able to read the full name of this pin header. It says "JP1-4".

Is it ...

How to create upgrade for OneForAll Remote under Linux?

Hello,

what exactly do I need.

If possible, I don't want to use WINE.

Is "Remote Master" anything, I need? Is Remote Master able to read learned keys directly from remote?
