Based on this information, I did a little bit more digging and found the instructions for RM-IR version. I was always looking at the original instructions that only included IR.exe.

This being the case, I guess I have to see if I can get a FTDI cable on eBay. My concern now is that all of the ones I find are 5V, but the instructions provided by Tommy say to use a 3.3V.
