I had 2 Xsight Touch, both broken. I would prefer the Touch over the Color because of the RF interface (I still have the extender). I don't know of any other among the JP1 offering an RF interface. Though one advantage of the Color is the standard batteries instead of specific LiIon-pack, easy to ...

Hi. I have a similar problem.
I got a URC7781 (with modem) and before learning to use JP1 and RM, I liked to get every device basically working. For instance my most important AV-Processor TAG McLaren AV32R . There is one existing device code I entered, but only volume works (weird enough since this ...

One for All URC 7781 (new) on Ebay Germany: 15,99 EUR
I found this very good offer and ordered one for me.
For that good price I would even get myself another as replacement.

I don't know the seller and the quality. If I'm encountering problems I'll let you know.

Sorry, I'm going for a URC 7781 (supporting 12 devices and currently very cheap in Germany ~16 EUR) after a hint of a german user and because the Touch was broken 2 times.

Wow just read the last answers now, got no reminder about new post though I'm watching this thread...
I'm going to work through these hints. However I found some other data spec document about a similar cable: FTDI_-_SERIAL_CONVERTER_CABLE_TTL232R.pdf

I found a picture with colors like my cable has: IMG. I'm going to use this mapping compared to the one in the cable hack pdf. Is there any chance to break something in the remote if wrong wired?
As for the kernel module I got ftdi_sio working and creating a device for my USB adapter.

What is the status of the URC-7960 now, is it supported by RemoteMaster?
Could we also add this remote to the lRemoteChart even if its not supported, just to have that information there?

One for All URC 8603 Xsight Touch: Robustness very fragile
One thing about the robustness of the Xsight Touch: My first unit had a broken VolUp key, this was after half a year. I got a replacement which completely stopped working now after another half year. This happened after a quite soft hit which alway may occur to a main remote in daily use.
