URC7781 forgetting commands

Hi,

currently I'm getting used to the 7781 without using JP1 or RM. I have already taught some missing commands and also did 2 upgrades via WAV-modem with files from OFA.
I just noticed, that if I teach here and there some commands, the remote forgets other commands on other devices which already ...

Thanks for your advice about toggle bits and EFC. This makes it more clear to me. Though the standard guide about how to enter EFC won't apply to the 7781 I guess, since it has a different device selector with menu structure.

Before creating my cable I tried using rmaster offline, but there I ...

I had 2 Xsight Touch, both broken. I would prefer the Touch over the Color because of the RF interface (I still have the extender). I don't know of any other among the JP1 offering an RF interface. Though one advantage of the Color is the standard batteries instead of specific LiIon-pack, easy to ...

I am quite satisfied with the 7781.
+: Excellent extender available (thanx to Graham)
-: If not using the extender, can be annoying to select device through the --> and <-- arrows
+: 13 devices (despite the name), "only" 12 if using the extender
+: many keys
-: not quite optimally arranged, in ...

Hi. I have a similar problem.
I got a URC7781 (with modem) and before learning to use JP1 and RM, I liked to get every device basically working. For instance my most important AV-Processor TAG McLaren AV32R . There is one existing device code I entered, but only volume works (weird enough since this ...

One for All URC 7781 (new) on Ebay Germany: 15,99 EUR

I found this very good offer and ordered one for me.
For that good price I would even get myself another as replacement.

I don't know the seller and the quality. If I'm encountering problems I'll let you know.

After my Xsight ...

Sorry, I'm going for a URC 7781 (supporting 12 devices and currently very cheap in Germany ~16 EUR) after a hint of a german user and because the Touch was broken 2 times.
I can help you testing on Linux of course, but not with the Xsight Touch anymore. Since I will still need the RF-Feature of the ...

Wow just read the last answers now, got no reminder about new post though I'm watching this thread...
I'm going to work through these hints. However I found some other data spec document about a similar cable: FTDI_-_SERIAL_CONVERTER_CABLE_TTL232R.pdf

I'm quite confused now.
"Easier Building the FTDI Interface.pdf" shows a 2x3 connector with only 4 wires connected into 2,3,4,6. This should be a JP1.2/3 cable.

"FTDI cable hack.pdf" finally shows a 2+3 connector but I can't see the final wiring, only a black one. Anyway the colors are completely ...

I found a picture with colors like my cable has: IMG. I'm going to use this mapping compared to the one in the cable hack pdf. Is there any chance to break something in the remote if wrong wired?

As for the kernel module I got ftdi_sio working and creating a device for my USB adapter.

As you can read from my previous post my Xsight Touch is broken.
I was close to drop the Xsight completely and go for a universal JP1.x
But since I already have a working setup for the Xsight Touch and there is the opportunity to maintain that with RemoteMaster, I'll get a replacement. I really ...

What is the status of the URC-7960 now, is it supported by RemoteMaster?

Could we also add this remote to the lRemoteChart even if its not supported, just to have that information there?

I read both "FTDI cable hack.pdf" and "Easier Building the FTDI Interface.pdf" and try to get connection that Dreambox 7020 remote.

My cable colors are different: Black, Green , Blue , Red , Yellow , White
The docs are relating to this set: Black, Brown , Red , Orange , Yellow , Green
How can I ...

One for All URC 8603 Xsight Touch: Robustness very fragile

One thing about the robustness of the Xsight Touch: My first unit had a broken VolUp key, this was after half a year. I got a replacement which completely stopped working now after another half year. This happened after a quite soft hit which alway may occur to a main remote in daily use.

Since the ...
