I have several of different Xsight from back in the day...many still in the original boxes never opened... I saw them as more advanced remotes that were still fully customizable so I was buying them up... If anyone is interested in acquiring some, let me know......otherwise they'll continue to sit ...

And the reason I wrote down everything that I tried was just to try and show you how difficult (or at least, non intuitive) this tool can be to use, and I consider myself an expert, so just imagine how others might feel.

I have no doubt that all of your tools are very powerful, it's just that the ...

One of such things is branching.
That's a common example, but I don't necessarily fully agree. I think branching is overrated. Don't get me wrong I love branches and actually a prefer a setup like git-flow, but in general I think the branching power of Git is widely abused. At my work we have many ...

There is a lot of sense in the saying "if it ain't broke, don't mend it". I would prefer to stay with Sourceforge and SVN than have to learn something new. Better the devil you know. I may hate it, but I hardly ever have to have anything to do with it.

I couldn't agree more...and I happen to be ...

Then Vyrolan came along and for a short time was adding various features of IR that were missing in RMIR. I had high hopes that he would do the Summary feature. Any chance of you coming back into our world, Vyrolan, and doing this? I am exhausted with all the XSight stuff so it will be some time ...

Have a look at Openremote , an open source home automation solution with support for, e.g. tablets (Android and iOS) and web-browsers.
The barrier for entry is pretty high for iRule, and it's astronomically high for OpenRemote. I worked with OpenRemote a lot before switching over to iRule which is ...

Re: OT - Tablets as remotes

This morning in the WSJ they were talking about a tablet that had IR out, and a remote app that would control your TV.
Having to point your tablet and then tap the write part of the screen sounds like most unwieldy control scheme ever. =p

Anybody care to enlighten me on remote control via IP or ...

Any version of RMIR that has my changes has the ability to convert Learns to an Upgrade. So you could import all the IRScope captures as UEI learns into the remote (even if they wouldn't fit if you tried to upload to the remote) and then use that functionality. Being able to just import an IRScope ...

Fairly simple protocol...here's the info for someone to make an ugrade:

First, the bits: Lead In = +3648 -1810
Lead Out = +575 -54164
0 = +576 -1112
1 = +572 - 550

There are three parameters (device, subdevice, whatever)...all of these signals are: A = 00011101 = 29
B = 01111101 = 125
C ...

Have seen them but not personally used them. Happily using a ...
