Free download of a Panasonic ST50 home automation module

Sorry guys for not updating this thread sooner, but I finished my IR module a while back, including a nice web interface.

You can download it here: http://cocoontech.com/forums/files/file/192-panasonic-st50-series-ir-module/

However, you'll need to install Premise first to use it. Premise is a ...

The URC pages look "nested", but in reality they are all flat menus. The trick is using the goto page function and organizing the menus so they look nested. If something like the Xsight had a goto page function, it may work. Please read on and provide input on whether the xsight menu can be tricked ...

Thanks guys. I appreciate all of your thoughts.

The only two reasons I went with more than one master remote:

1. If my wife carries a remote from one room to another, the remote still works. All she has to do is navigate to "Home" then to whichever room she is in.

2. Ease of programming as only ...

Here's a link to the free home automation software called Premise that I'm using in the setup depicted above. As previously stated, it is executing all of the macros, not the remote.

The remote is really actually pretty dumb in that each button (including the hard and soft buttons) has a hard ...

The mother of all custom hard button remote setups?!?

Can this be done with JP1 or some other user supported remote/program?

I'll detail the example with what I'm currently doing with some URC stuff off of ebay and without JP1 below. If this can be done with JP1, I apologize and please enlighten me as the URC stuff is just too expensive to use in ...

Another thought that came to mind was hotel mode. Does anyone know if any of the consumer Panasonic plasmas offer such a thing?

Sometimes there is an option hidden deep in the service menu to enable such a thing, and usually this either turns on ip control or enables some strange looking port that ...

This is a good idea, however, without prior experience decompiling and then modifying a firmware, I would be too scared to try it on my own. I think it can probably be done.

It would be neater if one could modify the software to act as a tcp socket server then a perl script or something could talk ...

Yes, both the format button on the remote and the aspect ratio option in the menu are full circle toggle commands :(

If you know of a simple (tcp based ascii or hex commands) ip based command protocol I'm interested.

The SOAP that is captured from packet sniffing looks much more difficult to ...

Ok, I feel like I'm not getting something here... Please elaborate on the quoted portion below.

In my home automation (HA) system, I want my PC to know the exact picture state. With IR there are typically two ways to do this: discrete commands or some macro that exploits a combination of commands ...

Sorry I didn't mention it earlier...

I tried your idea of going into the menu when you posted it. It was a great idea, but the older panasonic codes still did not work (or you would have been the lucky winner :) ).

The TV does remember the last screen format selected for each source. This kind of ...

Does Panasonic have a technician support number I can call that automatically directs to higher support levels?

I've called their normal support number before and it's completely useless. If anyone knows an engineer there or something, please ask them about the possibility of other discrete codes ...

Thanks,

I thought about learning that one from the factory remote, but really, it is pretty useless from an automation stand point.

If there are really no discrete screen formatting codes, this will be the last Panasonic device I buy!

I don't know if there are any discrete codes for this. You ...

Thanks, I was wondering how you send all codes automatically. The program sounds very useful.

I'm kind of scared to do this since it seems risky. If you end up sending some special factory service code, who knows what might happen?!?

For example, I already cleared my TV's settings by accident when ...
