Are you a JP1 user, with a JP1 remote and cable? If so, when you say "the Sky Q codes do not work", do you mean the built in setup codes, or do you mean the Sky Q upgrades in the file section?

I have a JP1 remote and cable but its not been used for a while. I came back to 'pick some wise brains ...

Sort of. Its for the Sky streaming device, Sky Stream, the device is a puck and the Sky Q codes do not work.

I have found this protocul, and generated all 256 codes for it and am working through them.

I though if there was a device set up code that used this protocul it might be quicker.

I am trying to find a set up code (or what device name, etc),uses this IR data ?

Not sure if its even possible ? Any advice welcome

In the uploaded Word file, the decode from IR is NEC1 device 0, OBC 10. You should enter 10 into the function boxes in MakHex GUI. Instead you've entered 55, which is the EFC value.

Besides the function number, there are some small differences in the two versions of Pronto Hex, e.g. 006C versus ...

Thanks for the help and pointers, I have looked again and still it does not look right, I have uploaded a file kdp99makehex.doc to the upload area, I am sure I am being stupid but can't see where !?

The tool that you need is called MakeHex.


Firstly many thanks, As a test I have tried it with a the numbers above which I have the Hex data from in IR has I have learned it OK, and get different numbers, I am being thick or is this OK.

MakeHex gives

Protocol=nec2 Device=128.0 Function=183..183 ...

Which tool to create hex

Firstly many thanks Capn, for the prompt and helpful reply, and image.

Its my error, I checked the remotes spread sheet to check it had a Jp1, but did not check the eprom bit - wiser next time.

Luckly I ony paid £2.75 on ebay, so its a cheap lesson.

Wondered if anyone else has had this problem. I have a JP1 lead that I know is OK because I have several JP1 remotes with male connectors that communicate fine with the pc.

There appears to be a problem with adding upgrades with keymoves. The RMDU posted is for the wrong remote. I am assuming Keith adjusted his RMDU file to show the proper remote, (which was not done with at least one of his previous upgrades). But even if I adjust the upgrade for the correct ...

I have used the development version of IR with the new RDF and this is what I have found.

1 The devices button area problem goes away
