Thank you both so much!
I'll fix it up slightly (copy the select to the enter, etc.). I'll post it into the devices area as Xbox-Clone.
I will take all of those pictures I have of Xbox remotes and put them ...

Thanks Jon, but your upgrade didn't work either - just two or three of the buttons worked (same as Rob's last one).
I uploaded the last working upgrade (6800_IR_file.IR) to the diagnosis area in case you guys lost track of what was the working stuff. That file works flawlessly - except that it is ...

Hi Robman,
The test of your new protocol did not go well. The only buttons which worked are right, select, ch-, stop, macro, macro2, 1, 4, 5. (I don't think I caused the problem with the work in KM since it was the macro and macro2 buttons I changed in KM and they still work.)
If it helps, I had a ...

The IR file you provided is not compatible with my remote (it gives me a warning when I try to upload). So I figured I needed to use KM to change the remote to the 6800 and then use the new upgrade codes in IR to upload to my remote. Then there's the small matter of trying to find new codes which ...

I kind of like "NoName Xbox remote". The name is growing on me. Besides I still have no way of identifying it as anything else :-) At least there shouldn't be more than two or three remotes for the Xbox.
I'm happy to try and find more codes. I tried to do that for one of the other upgrades I posted ...

Being a basement there is of course metal ductwork around. That was my original inspiration for hiding it in the ceiling above any of that stuff. I was also careful to pick a location away for the receiver away from the duct that my remot could get a non-metalic shot at.
