Graham,

I just tested RMIR 2.06 with my parallel cable. I am running Windows 10 64-bit and it worked great. I was able to download and upload from my RCA RCU810 remote with no issues. I can now use one platform for all of my remotes (parallel, JP1.x, JP2). Thanks!

Thanks for the responses!

I will try the latest release of RMIR with my parallel cable. It would be great to get to one platform and eliminate IR if possible. I will let you know how it goes.

Can IR 8.04 program JP2 remotes?

Can IR 8.04 be used to program JP2 remotes? I still use IR because I have an old RCA RCU810 remote that uses the parallel cable for programming. I built a USB serial cable (FTDI) to program my JP1.3 Atlas 1056 B01 remote and it works fine using IR 8.04. I also have a JP2 Atlas 1056 B03 remote. When ...

Liz - Here is how things mapped out:

KM Device1 = RM Device 0 = 166
KM OBC1 = RM devOBC1 = 161
KM OBC2 = RM devOBC2 = 160
KM Device2 = RM DevP2 = 175

I left RM devOBC3 and devOBC4 as blank which defaulted to 89 and 92 respectively.

Thanks again!

Success!!

ElizabethD - Success!! Your file worked with just one modification. I had to put the device codes (166, 175) and OBC codes (161, 160) in the right order in the Protocol Parameters section and I was all set. Apparently turning the RCU810 device file into a 1056-B01 device file in KM before importing ...

I tried again using Alpha 28 with no success. I posted 3 files; here is a link to them: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=13239

The folder contains the original device file that I made for my RCA remote, the device file that I made for my Atlas remote using the RCA ...

All - thanks for the quick replies! A couple of responses:

mdavej - There was a file for the 1056-B01 JP1.3 remote in the RDF folder I was using. There wasn't one for the 1056-B03 JP2 remote (I have one of those as well) but I found an RDF file for that one in the download section. In any event, I ...

Help with Atlas OCAP 1056-B01 and Pioneer receiver/DVD

Hi - I need some help as I am switching from my RCA RCU810 remote to an Atlas OCAP 1056-B01 remote. The system it will control contains a Pioneer XV-HTD540 receiver/DVD player. Several years ago I used my RCU810 to learn the signals from my Pioneer remote from which I created a device upgrade file ...

Hi - Just to complete the story, I decided to try to reset my counterfeit FTDI device's PID back to 6001 using the FT_PROG program. I followed the instructions on the https://ljck.org/unbrick_ftdi website and it worked. Next, I installed the device on my computer with the original FTDI 2.10.0.0 ...

mathdon - Thanks for the information. For now, it is not too much of a problem to use different programs for each remote/interface cable combination so I will stick with that for now. If I get tired of that, I can use one of your suggested solutions (32-bit Java or JP1 adapter).

ruidosobruce - Thanks for the post about the FTDI driver you are using. My Windows-centric mind did not consider the fact that you could be using a different OS!!

ruidosobruce - I purchased my cable from eBay as well although I don't remember from whom. However, my cable looks exactly like yours and even has the same wire colors. I guess my supplier gets his supply from folks who are using counterfeit FTDI chips.

Just to be sure - when you say that you are ...

Hi! I recently downloaded and installed RMIR Alpha 27c to use a USB serial cable I made to program a JP1.X remote I have. I see that Alpha 28 is available so I will upgrade soon.

Resolved!!

I found the issue with my cable!! Apparently, I must have a fake FTDI device. I did some research on the Internet and found out that the FTDI driver I installed (2.12.0.0) bricks fake FTDI devices by setting their PID to "0000".

I found a website (https://ljck.org/unbrick_ftdi) that explains the ...
