JP1 Remotes

Am I correct in assuming that I can edit a saved .rmir file with the upgrade and use the RMIR program to assign unused keys and then download the .rmir file to the remote. Whats the differene between a .ir file and a .rmir file? I seem to get to the same place using either one.

VIcky and Robman thank you. I added the upgrade this morning and the comcast remote now controls the volume on the UMC-1. I have not had the time to test any other functions yet. Nice Job!!!

I have already saved the comcast.ir. What is the best (easiest) program to do the upgrade. KM or RM. I tried RM but it not that easy to use. What are the map and image files it asks for? I appreciate your help

I set the aux device to 21121 and then tapped the setup key and entered
00120 on the keypad. Nothing happened. I also tried hitting the volume key after entering 00120 and nothing happened. Earlier in a posts it appeared that both Robman and Vicky used different versions of Emotivas remote codes ...

Vickyg2003 link to the remote codes is the correct link for the most current codes. BTW the umc-1 is a digital audio/visual processor that has a very large remote keypad

You folks will have to indulge me a little here. I am a technical person but you people speak a very unfamiliar language. Other than program a few commercial learning remotes I have never dealt with remotes. Compared to a theater master mx-700 or a Pronto, JP1 is order of magnitudes more complicated ...

oops looks like $34 down the drain for the cable. Is there any kind of guide out there that could help do the upgrade. There was talk of making a umc-1 upgrade but I could not find the finished product. Thanks

I would like to program the volume deys on my Comcast remote to control the volume of a Emotiva UMC-1. I have the JP1.3 cable, the pronto hex remote codes for the UMC and I can download the current configuration of the remote to IR.exe. But I cannot get the key move to accept the pronto hex code ...
