Yes, getting into the service menu allows you to activate the 3D and THX options (which is why I along with a number of people wanted a servcie remote to activate these). With all your help, I was able to use my RCA remote to activate these items. It works great! Thanks!

Thanks for all your replies. I finally got it to work with code 1423. Easy to access service remote now (using the 994 command to add the keys I found somewhere on internet).
