Yes the URC-3940 will work. This thread shows that it accepts the 994 keymove commands, and we know that it has 10178 setup code.

However, in the post you mentioned as being at "the top of this page", you say "Typed in 12000 for two flashes." Unless that statement was in error, 12000 was accepted ...

12000 didn't actually get two flashes...kind of a long pause but the volume etc work and I can control the TV.

My TV is LG 32LD320.

@3FG The steps I took are in the top post of this page. Would I be better getting a new remote i.e URC-3940? Does this work ok?

To assign the 10178 setup code:
1) Press TV
2) Press and hold FFWD and REQ together, 2 flashes
3) Enter 10178, 2 flashes

Then, to assign 00018 to the REPLAY button:
1) Press TV

4) Press and FFWD and REQ together briefly

That should have been the first clue that something wasn't right. (Just FYI, the SELECT button is sometimes labeled as "OK" on some remotes).

Let me know if the new instructions work.
Neither have worked :(

Nothing.

Still having no joy. Played the Wav and the light stayed on after the sound and flashed after it.

Then did the 12000 code and nothing happened. If I could have a final step by step guide it would be easier as I'm confused now. Then I could say where it is going wrong.

Sorry but what 12000 code? You know far more than me clearly can you please set it out in steps and note what exactly I should see?

Note 10178 is the code to take control of the TV

Also, there is no select button

I had a look at the manual. I don't have a remote which is able to plug into a MP3 player or access to one of them symbian phones
I don't know where you got the MP3 or Symbian references from as I just scanned the manual and neither word is mentioned. However, I also noticed that the manual doesn ...

I have no idea how to do that. I can get a all-for-one URC-3940 off ebay in the UK for £10. Will this work?

The Robman wrote:Well, there might still be another option. The user manual makes it look like this remote accepts WAV upgrades, and the RDF confirms that, so we could create an upgrade with the required buttons in it and then have shyman load it in via the modem.
Would this be possible? What do I need to do it?

Have tried this and it doesnt work. It accepts everything except the 18/018/00018 :?

Re: URC-8350 not working

Apologies. It's the One For All URC-8350. When I type these codes in nothing happens. It doesn't blink twice to accept the codes when I assign it to a button.
Which setup code are you using? You need to have programmed a setup code that uses NEC1 with a device code of 4 first. TV/0178 would work ...

Re: URC-8350 not working

Hey.

I'm trying all the suggested steps but they dont work! I can get control of the TV but cannot program 018/00018 or 019/00019.

it is different in the respect that the magic button is holding fast forward and rewind for 3 seconds.

Any help would be great. Thanks
