Dead/Bricked URC-62440

Today I bricked two of these remotes! Tried the battery removal/discharge tricks to no avail. Cannot do raw download or any JP1 ops (no remote found). Does anyone know of any way to reset these remotes - like maybe clearing the EPROMS on the board with a jumper, etc.

The remotes were working fine ...

Format of raw download

Thanks for the info 3FG. I am a software developer and would be interested in trying to pry out a little more information from the raw download programmatically. Is there a format definition of the raw download? What exactly is being downloaded? I will develop some macros as you suggest, but what ...

RUC-62440

Here is a link to the raw download from the remote in the data section:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=11854

It says that the signature starts with 3364. Any help would be appreciated on how to go from here.

I would like to know how an RDF is created. Specifically ...

It has a 6-pin connector so I am assuming it is 1.3 as it is a new technology. There is nothing written next to the connector and taking it apart looks problematic! How are RDF and MAP files created for myself and others assuming I can use RM on the remote. My new USB cable should arrive shortly as ...

Thanks so much 3FG. That Yamaha file is exactly what I have been looking for. If it is not proprietary, should it not be posted in this forum, or at least a link to it?

I sure wish I had that file when doing the RX765!

How can I change the receiver to a different ID if it is set for ID2 ...

Yamaha RX-V2700

I thought I had learned all the tricks about programming Yamaha boxes after developing a complete load for my new RX765 Yamaha box, but then someone asked me to do the same for their V2700. I stand very corrected!

1. Device: Yamaha RX-V2700
2. Type of device: Audio
3. Year: Unknown - probably 5 ...

jchiso I agree. I've noticed that they have modified their wording to list which models it won't fit. Beware that the list is not complete. The RCA remote should also be listed. If you already have this cable use an Xacto knife or box cutter to shave the edges of the plug and glue it back together ...

The upgrade from 3FG worked. I will update my file (with kudos) at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=9183.

More changes to come. Thanks to 3FG.

I just downloaded the latest version of RM (2.00) - what a difference a few days make! That jump from 1.99 to 2.00 is a hell of a gap.

So I will now test your updated upgrade and see how it goes and let you know shortly.

thanks,

Steve

Well, I have a couple of comments here.

First of all you folks (Rob and 3FG) have been at this many many years so all of this stuff is second nature to you.

But let me give you my impression of being a member less than three weeks. I have found the process frustrating. An example is by suggesting ...

This particular box has 4 HDMI inputs, 4 audio inputs, digital/optical inputs, etc. Most people using this box could not accomodate their inputs using the device buttons at the top, myself included. Good idea to simplify it though, for people who have fewer devices.

An easy-to-use Working Yamaha RX Upgrade

This is not a request for info, but a possible solution to all those people who are seeking how to include their Yamaha home theater amp or receiver on their cable/pvr remote.

I have built an upgrade that allows users to easily change this upgrade to their configuration using Remote Master then ...

An RM upgrade was created from the original remote but it was not fully tested because the original DVD is now broken. All buttons have been placed on a PVR style remote with some shift keys.
