JP1 Remotes

Today I bricked two of these remotes! Tried the battery removal/discharge tricks to no avail. Cannot do raw download or any JP1 ops (no remote found). Does anyone know of any way to reset these remotes - like maybe clearing the EPROMS on the board with a jumper, etc.

Is there a format definition of the raw download? What exactly is being downloaded? I will develop some macros as you suggest, but what ...

How can I change the receiver to a different ID if it is set for ID2 ...

I thought I had learned all the tricks about programming Yamaha boxes after developing a complete load for my new RX765 Yamaha box, but then someone asked me to do the same for their V2700. I stand very corrected!

jchiso I agree. I've noticed that they have modified their wording to list which models it won't fit. Beware that the list is not complete. The RCA remote should also be listed. If you already have this cable use an Xacto knife or box cutter to shave the edges of the plug and glue it back together ...

I just downloaded the latest version of RM (2.00) - what a difference a few days make! That jump from 1.99 to 2.00 is a hell of a gap.

So I will now test your updated upgrade and see how it goes and let you know shortly.

Well, I have a couple of comments here.

First of all you folks (Rob and 3FG) have been at this many many years so all of this stuff is second nature to you.

But let me give you my impression of being a member less than three weeks. I have found the process frustrating. An example is by suggesting ...

This particular box has 4 HDMI inputs, 4 audio inputs, digital/optical inputs, etc. Most people using this box could not accomodate their inputs using the device buttons at the top, myself included. Good idea to simplify it though, for people who have fewer devices.

With the help of others I created an upgrade that seems to work well and should be of benefit to others.

This is not a request for info, but a possible solution to all those people who are seeking how to include their Yamaha home theater amp or receiver on their cable/pvr remote.

An RM upgrade was created from the original remote but it was not fully tested because the original DVD is now broken. All buttons have been placed on a PVR style remote with some shift keys.
