JP1 Remotes

Unfortunately, it was over the phone. Hmm... this is rather annoying.

Where is the cable socket? This remote doesn't have a traditional battery case, just a sort of tube that you can take one end off.

Right. Can someone point me to something that will walk me through sending this:

They have sent me the keymagic code, but they also said that if I have chipset version R00 or R01, it won't work. I have R01, and indeed, it doesn't appear to work.

Is there a way to work around this? They've offered to replace the remote, but only with an inferior non-LCD model that isn't worth ...

Right, I've sent them an e-mail requesting the KeyMagic code for that button. Yes, the rest of the DVD functions work perfectly. I am overall very impressed with OFA so far.

In fact, I seem to remember something along the lines of Extended Function Code actually being used in the manual... I'll go ...

Right - everything I care about on the TV side now works, but for the built-in DVD player, I still can't get into its setup menu. At least I can use the DVD menu now, however. Is there anything I can do from here?

Just giving a quick update:

I've e-mailed OFA, and they told me my exact model isn't in the database, but they requested I send them a photo of the original remote from the manual so they can cross-reference it with their database of similar models. I have now done this, and am awaiting the next ...

I could pop back to Comet (where I bought it) and see if they still have them... somehow I doubt it, though. It's a great little TV for relatively cheap that does most things you would ever want it to do, just it's pretty unheard of.

I've done the scan, yes. I'll just try the codes now. EDIT: Nope, just tried all 4, and neither power, menu nor mute worked (the 3 buttons on the code entry screen).

I've tried searching through the standard method (the built-in search feature) - is the 991 search any different? No codes turned off the power ...
