Re: Can Philips SRP5107/27 be taught macros?

I know this is an old thread, but I picked up a Philips SRP5107/27 a while ago as it seemed like a decent 'extra" remote. I do like the feel, layout, learning, looks, etc.

However, I did not realize it cannot accept macros commands :o

I realize it "acts" like a JP1 in many ways, I was wondering ...

I am not able to solve my 9750 problems by myself and since this thread looks like dead, in my desperation I got me a 6430. According to OFA, it can be programmed online.

Now, my first impression was a horrible mess of buttons, worse than I feared from the images I'd seen. But I thought I'd give it ...

I think I succeeded in my first time uploading a file to this forum:

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=12497

The Sat learned codes are all from the the VU+ remote.

I got the RM with MAP and RDF files installed. What do I do now?

Don't know what I should do ...

Oh no, I am using .ir files from, I don't know, maybe ten, fifteen years ago?

Seems I'll have to learn to use KM, is new to me.

Sorry I have to squeeze the remote control problem handling in between other chores these days so it will be much of an on-off affair for a while.

I will try to handle ...

Great, but what do I do with a RMDU file? Sorry for my ignorance. Will search for RMDU info. Both here and Google.

Good news: All ok now!

I tried wiping out all learned commands except the ones for the SAT device before, but that didn't solve the problem.

But today it worked and I guess I must have done something wrong the first time. There was a lot of learned in all of the 5 devices but I erased all the ...

I always get this error message when learning the VU+ up button to the 7950:

"The learned data BurstSpec appears to be malformed. Learned data parsing is stopped at $13CA.

Use the Advanced>Clean Upper Memory option to clear the unused device/protocol/learned memory areas and relearn the signal ...

All right, I will get back to that. What about current OFA remotes, do they have the ir contact or can one be installed?

The "Essence 2", URC 7120 would be sufficient for TV + STB and OFA might perhaps also have the codes. Harmony might be an alternative, but I've never been a Harmony fan.

I don't give up before I am beaten. I downloaded from the 7950, and uploaded the same file - with no problems. Ergo, the remote is ok.

I uplooaded an old file, still no problems.

My problem was that I was trying to upload a file saved from a Dreambox remote to the 7950. No wonder I was warned ...

Programming of URC 7950 fails.

I downloaded and saved from my URC 7950 a few months ago. Since then I've used the learn function to complete the functions, but when I try to restore from the last saved file I get error msg:

signature different between remote and signature to write to the remote.

I try to continue the operation ...

Basically, the problem is that I've reorganized my system several times since last I used JP1 the program, backing up and reformatting drives, something's got to give. :D

All JP1 USB cables require drivers. The link to the correct drivers is on Tommy's Market Place thread and that's:
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Though, while the URL is different from the FTDI link that you posted, it appears they use the same drivers.

Thank you, I believe I tried the ...

System asking for TTL232 driver for JP1 interface?

Hi, I haven't used my JP1 interface for some years but I found I need to change a code in my URC39930 (Dreambox) remote but when I connect the USB cable I am being asked for a TTL232R driver.

Can't remember I've had to install any driver before?

I've copied the file gwiopms.sys to C:\ as well as ...
