The 8810W was just the WalMart version of the 8811. Other than the model number, they are IDENTICAL.
Yup. I know. :) The problem isn't that, as NEITHER model is commercially available anywhere, red or green backlighting. As stated, were either model readily available, I'd plunk down the $20 or so ...

URC-8810w wear and tear help?
I've been a happy JP1 user for years now, and my URC-8810w is irreplaceable. Literally... That's the problem. The Fwd and FFwd buttons have worn a bit to the extent where they no longer really function well. I've opened up the chassis, cleaned the board, cleaned the rubber part, and reassembled the ...

Nobody's working on it, so no progress. The technology used in this remote has already been abandoned for something else, so it's not worth anyone spending any time and effort on it. It looks like the IR 7.0 program now touts JP1 v1.x. I have one of these remotes, but don't see a map for it in the ...

Thanks for the offer Rob! Think I have to accept your help, as I can't seem to do it on my own. URC-8810w-040811a.ToonGal.zip is in the Diagnosis Files area on Yahoo.

PVR-250 help
The main reason I got involved with JP1 was to customize a remote to handle my new HTPC with SageTV as the PVR, the PVR-250 as my encoder, and the URC-8810w as the JP1 remote. I think I have useful information and links to share that will help you across the board for your PVR-250.

The .txt file is OK for general information, but for the PVR250 to really work, it has to be in conjunction to the irremote.ini file. I have a URC-8810w myself (more keys), but basically, the mappings should be about the same.

Thanks for the quick response Mike! Now jogging instead of crawling. Ready to run. Here's the update(s):
1) FINISHED. What was I thinking...? :) Talk about spot-the-obvious-move / RTFM... Soooooooo embarassed. Select the simplest form of the actual model number. Who knew? ;)

Newbie help requests - URC-8810w
Been playing with this for the past week with moderate success and now have to ask for help. Only interested in help with goal #1 at this point. (Will continue thread on other goals when #1 is 100% done.)
Goal(s):
1) Create a simulated VCR setup code that generates a unique RC-5 code for EVERY ...

OFA URC-8810w, 2 Qs + RCA VCR2 code req
Thanks to a friend on JP1/SageTV (Opus4, yay!), I have bought a URC-8810w from WalMart to potentially replace the RS 15-2117 I got the other day. Figuring it to be $10 cheaper AND 8 or so more buttons, seems like a no-brainer.
As a general curiosity, some of the codes on the OFA don't do all the ...
