Newb JP1er Reports Back JP1 SUCCESS. Thanks all for help.

Ok. Your help has paid off guys. Here is my personal experience with getting a near perfect URC using JP1, which I hope will help others:

I got interested in JP1 after I bought a Toshiba D-R550 DVDR w/Tuners that came with a non-universal and horrible remote. Can you imagine a Vendor selling a ...

Atlas 11055 Learning.

I am fairly sure any Atlas URC or Cable URC Model 1055 having an extra '1', ie, 11055, in its Model number is a Learning Remote. In addition, any Model 1056 with and 'L' suffix is a Learning Remote, ie, M1056L

JP1 site list of JP1 enabled remotes shows Cox Cable Model 7820B as being Learning. I ...

So Rob, I hate to beat a dead horse, but I hope you understand the need for some clarification. The devil is usually in the details.

If I have an Atlas OCAP, originally specified by Time Warner, as an example, for their Cable Service and not others obviously, and contract to UEI to make it, are you ...

Oh, and add a '-' button on the 550, for DTV Tuner sub-channel entry/selection, example, channel 11-3.

As mentioned by another input here, the 400/410 has a few buttons the 550 don't have.

Here is a good site for viewing/comparing remotes, as well as other mfg/models that use the same remote, and ...

Toshiba DVDR D-R400/410/550/5560 and Philips DVDR3505/3506

I have compared the Toshiba D-R400/410 Remote to my D-R550 and they are the same exception two more buttons for the Tuner in the 550, DTV/TV
and CH UP/DN.

So its looking very good for a go using the 400 Device Upgrade file to start.
In addition, I know that an Asian company called Funai makes both ...

Toshiba D-R400/10 DVDR Recorder

I had found that file but it says it's for models D-R400 / D-KR10. Neither matched D-R410 which is my device. I found a comment on the Amazon listing for the Toshiba D-R410 that said their 410 had been mistakenly shipped with a Remote for the 400, but it worked just fine but was missing some of the ...

Newbie needs some getting started help and answers. Thanks

Hey guys, I more or less driven here trying to find a reliable urc w/learning that would let me deal with a Toshiba DVDR with Digital D-R550. It came with an absolutely atrocious remote(looks like the remote designer just applied glue to a hand full of small buttons all the same shape and threw them ...

An alternative to long URLs is to use a free function called TinyURL. You can find it at http://TinyURL.com.

Check it out. I and millions others use it to solve long url copy/paste problems. I am sure you all have seen a reference to a url called tiny..
