Yeah, I switched to a "key" style key move last night, and that worked. Would be nice if RMIR could generate a warning when encountering such a scenario.

But regardless, after much fiddling with that and the timing on various macros, I think I finally have everything where I want it to be. Thanks ...

One oddity I've found, at least on my extended RCRP05B, is that key moves don't seem to work well (at all?) with this upgrade.

Specifically, the Apple TV unit fails to acknowledge the Discrete On/Off functions when key-moved to the corresponding phantom buttons. But they work just fine when ...

Just confirmed that the upgrade also works with OBC2 = 254. Like you, I don't know what the pairing code actually does so... *shrug*

Either way, sounds like it'd probably be good to make one of our two upgrades generally available for anybody else who might come looking in the future. Doesn't ...

Yeah, it's been working a treat.

For device 229, I copied the OBCs (1 & 2) from the Apple TV alternative upgrade , which set OBC2 to 1 for everything. (Except for Mute, but I'm not using the Apple TV's volume controls, so I can neither confirm nor deny whether that's accurate.)

I was also able to ...

FYI, I managed to reverse engineer just enough to confirm that a NEC1-f16x upgrade with Device = 238, Subdevice = 135, and an OBC of 3 yields the Menu / Back function.

I've put together what I think is a complete upgrade, containing all but the "unknown" functions from that Remote Central post ...

Apologies for resurrecting a zombie thread, but just picked up an Apple TV 4K, and so find myself jumping through the "JP1 New Device" hoops.

In my searching, I found this post on RemoteCentral that includes many additional functions missing from the JP1 upgrades referenced by this thread, all ...

Yes, tried that. No change, unfortunately.

Today I confirmed something I suspected a while ago, when I previously reported a bricked 3660.

I carelessly connected the JP1 cable backwards when performing an upload. Now, the TV button just blinks constantly. The remote doesn't seem to respond to any button presses. Attempts at a fresh upload ...

This has been the first remote in years that I thought could be a viable replacement for my trusty (but aging) RCRP05Bs. So I picked up a couple and started experimenting with them this weekend. And while I miss the power that an extender brings, I've slowly been able to get the 3660 into a mostly ...

Thanks for the clarification. Ordered one of the Hisense remotes. My trusty RCRP05B will happily take care of the rest.

My apologies. I wasn't clear before.

I am absolutely able to pair my Ultra's Enhanced Voice Remote with the Roku 2. Once paired, I am also able to get the Roku 2 to remember saved voice search commands. That all works a treat.

I then take the voice remote back upstairs to the living room to keep ...

I've noticed a couple of times now that my Rokus will stop responding to their saved voice searches if they detect that they're no longer paired with a voice remote. This seems to happen when, for example, they reboot and the remote isn't in range. Once the remote is re-paired, the Roku will ...

Hmm. Looks like you're right. It may just be that the Roku will only honor the 1, 2, & 3 keys so long as it thinks it's paired with a voice remote. I made the mistake of unpairing the remote from one before pairing with the other. Didn't think the same remote could be paired to two devices at once ...

I did encounter one other surprising bit of strangeness. After programming my Ultra, I decided to take my voice remote down to the basement, pair it with my old Roku 2, and repeat the procedure there so I could have the same shortcuts on both devices.

But once I'd done this, I discovered that the ...

Just upgraded my Ultra to 9.3 this morning. Dug out the original remote to give this new "saved voice command" feature a try. And yay, no more arrow-navigation macros to launch YouTube TV! That's certainly an improvement.

The one odd/mildly annoying thing about this approach, however, is using one ...
