I read this thread and am laughing so hard that tears are running down my face. It reminds me of "Who's on First".

Larry have you noticed this forum has a whole subforum called EXTENDERS? In JP1 land, an extender is powerful hack that enhances the functionality of your remote.

When I posted a ...

Earlier in this thread i was cmplaining about how my new Samsung TVs hate working with a Roku. When my Tv recognizes that a Roku is plugged in, it issues a play command on the Roku. Every time i switch to the Roku.

My solution was to unplug the Roku and the TV and then replug it in but stopping ...

Dave, I think you hit the nail on the head. When I was doing my code search I was getting updates ALL the time. I must have had 4 updates the first month I owned the s90. I never thought to go back and recheck that the button codes might have changed behavior.

Hello Larry,
I've been following your development.

There are two terms we use here, EFC and OBC that are rather confusing, and extremely important to differentiate.

We have protocol executors, and device codes.

The protocol executor is like a little subroutine, that takes some fixed data and ...

The Samsung master file was a great help.

The TV is a challenge for automation.
1. Context sensitive quick menu is a PITA to navigate.
2. Random advertising pop ups make macros misfire.
3. Interface is extremely slow to navigate and so to point the remote for a long time

My TV doesn't have a ...

Bill, I think you should try mine. As I said earlier in this thread, I worked my way through the Samsung master file for my 2024 Oled and Qled Samsung TVs.

I have had a lot of difficulties taming the new Samsung TVs.

Even with the OEM remote the arrow keys are unreliable. Often jumping multiple times.

The menus are context sensitive and so the same sequence of buttons don't have the same results.

I have rearranged the quick menu items, moving ...

Around 2022 give or take a year, when all the browsers dropped the lock symbol for Https and started displaying ?Not Secure? for HTTP many browsers would not even allow you into an HTTP site without tweaking your browser settings. For those of us that dabble in JP1 this is no big deal.

In real ...

No. Definitely not coming from the remote as it did it with the oem bluetooth remote too. The problem miraculously disappeared after re attaching the Roku into the TV while also plugging in the Bluray. player and the Roku was not recognized as a Roku.

Even with One Touch off on the Roku and CEC and Input Signal Plus turned off on the Samsung, I still was getting the behavior that a PLAY command was being sent when the Samsung KNEW it was a Roku.

In fact when the TV knew it was a Roku, one touch didn't work. It would turn the TV on, but it would ...

I tried moving my Roku to all the different Hdmi ports. When you plug it in in goes through some sort of recognition and shows up as a little square labeled Roku.

If I highlighted the Roku on the Home screen and hit ok on the tv oem remote or using an IR remote the roku acted like a play button ...

I'm sorry Rob, I missed your earlier post with the link. I didn't have the language to google the part. I really don't like the hardware aspect of JP1ing but poking pins and heating shrink wrap with a hair dryer isn't as frightening as soldering was.

I find I get about 125 uploads out of FTDI ...

I have ordered 4 cables, the guitar paint, the button stickies. Hopefully this will calm my JP1-Anxiety-Disorder.

I have 6 2x3 connectors somewhere, I couldn't figure out how to find them to buy them.

I am STILL working on this STUPID smart TV. The biggest problem is that it hates working with a Roku. Every time I switched to the Roku, by any method, discretes or walking through the menu, the TV would send a PLAY command from .5 to 5 seconds after I switched to the input even with CEC turned off ...

Thanks Dave, I checked my traveling box, and found I don't have my 6 pin connectors with me, so I have no idea where they might be, since its been a decade since I made the only cable that I can use on Windows 11. So the 6 individual pins will be my best bet for right now.

I don't want to buy from ...
