Yamaha discrete codes for HDMI inputs

I am looking for discrete codes for HDMI inputs for an Aventage a2 AVR. The remote doesn't have direct inputs, so I can't learn them. I've tried as many different variations as I can think of from the Yamaha files on this website, but they don't seem to work, although I may be doing something wrong ...

Discrete input codes for Yamaha?

I am thinking of buying a Yamaha AVR (probably the yamaha avr rx-v6a or the Aventage rx-a2a). The most recent Yamaha file I can see is from a few years ago. The remote only has a toggle for inputs and no direct input buttons.

Does anyone know if there are discrete input codes which can be used for ...

Thank you both, but I finally got things working.

First, the issue with the PIP button seems to have been with the device upgrade for the Denon receiver. My bad. I have it set up so the "media" input is on key number 5 to make it easy for the macros. When I checked my remote by actually pressing ...

Questions about 9910 extender

I have been using JP-1 cables for a long time but am still really a newbie when it comes to extenders. I have been using an extender on my 9910, but now I want to make a couple of changes.

First, since all my devices now are using my Denon receiver for volume control for all devices, I want to ...

Thanks to both of you for the information. I purchased the FLIRC, but my wife is going to give it to me for Xmas, so it will be a few weeks before I can play around with it.

I use PLEX on my Shield, but I don't use KODI. From what mdavej said, it seems I will likely use the MCE codes, but I will ...

Thank you. I guess the issue was with my desktop computer, because when I tried the different files for the Shield on my laptop, which is what I actually use to program my remotes, they all worked fine with the RCRP05B.

BTW, even though this is off topic, I presume that when I get my FLIRC, which ...

? for NVIDIA Shield users

I have an NVIDIA Shield and hate the remote. I am thinking of using a JP1 remote via IR to control it instead of the bluetooth remote it came with.

I have numerous JP1 remotes available to me including the Cinema 6 and 7, RS 15-1994, and URC 8800 and 9800. But the remote I prefer and use the most ...

Somehow, the computer I use to program my remotes seems not to have Java installed on it at all. I have no idea how it could have disappeared, but I just re installed it, and I've gotten things working again.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Missing javaw.exe?

I have been a longtime user of JP1 and about a year ago started using RMIR exclusively with no problems. Today I went to make a minor modification of my RCRP05B programming, and when I try to open any .rmdu or .rmir file, I was asked which program to use. If I try to use the previously associated ...

DirecTV info of interest to HR2x users

I recently got a new TIVO and decided to redo all my programming on my RCRP05B remotes. I had an interesting issue with DirecTV, and this might be of interest of DirecTV users.

I have two DirecTV DVRs in my family room which are set to device 1 and device 3. The device codes I was using were old ...

I knew this was going to do something dumb. I just looked at my RMIR file again and saw along the bottom there were learned signals. I didn't learn any signals to this remote, but somehow they were there including a "format" command on the "input" button. When I removed the learned signals, all the ...

new trial of RMIR with strange issue

I have started using RMIR to program my RCRP05B. This is the RMIR for the problem below:

https://hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=25498

The devices include two different direcTV receivers, a TIVO, a Panasonic BD player, Sony TV, and on dev4 a Denon receiver.

There are also 5 ...

MDaveJ:

I just tried your "fixed" version of the IR, and it works. I still have some touch up to do, and maybe I will just use the volume passthrough and the volume controls now that I'm changing things anyway.

Thanks again for your (quick) help!

Thank you for your help. I will get the fixed version.

Obviously you noticed that the volume controls are weird. This goes back to a time when I had a receiver that had no video switching capabilities. I used the TV sound most of the time and I only used the receiver when the sound was more ...
