The OP was asking for protocol executor code for a remote which uses the 740 microprocessor. The upgrade you linked doesn't have, nor does protocols.ini, 740 code for the DirecTV IR protocol.
It is very unlikely that anyone will create 740 support. There can't be many users left. I haven't posted ...

What happpens when a remote's backlight is on all night
A long, long time ago (7+ years ago), someone posted here that their remote was draining rechargeable batteries every night. Rob correctly surmised that only the backlight could drain that much electricity.

Maybe this has already occurred to you, but looking at the simple interface instructions
(specifically the last paragraph), it seems that the simple interface depends on four
components on the remote's PCB: R37, R17, R19,& C11. R100 (3.3K) corresponds to

Well, there's no way to tell what IR is doing without hearing from Mark or looking at the source. But IR uses porttalk (which you can download from here ) to get the needed low level access to the parallel port. So you could use the wrapper application (called allowio.exe) to do some testing.

Re: Adding two button codes to existing setup code
As described in the DecodeIr online documentation (which no one seems to read)
This is a good point. I know what DecodeIR.dll does and why it's important, and I still had to do a search to find the URL. There should be a sticky post that links to the zip file and to the documentation at least in ...

Thanks, Robman... this board has excellent support.. I barely get a question up before a response is posted...do I need to send anything to John to make him aware of this question?
Nope, he reads the forums regularly. And the fact that DecodeIR.dll has a name for the protocol is a good sign -- it ...

I'm a little confused by what you're looking for, so let me try to clarify. In a previous post you mentioned that you were using the extender for the 9910. You know that extender doesn't support learned codes, right? Are you planing on ditching the extender temporarily?

First of all, we aren't "creating" a new setup code, are we? Doesn't that code just pop up in KM as soon as you load the upgrade text? In my case, it was 1023. Here's the language that would have made me understand that I needed to enter that number next to AUD in the IR Device Buttons field:
