JP1 Remotes

Okey dokey. As the remote I'm actually trying to configure now is the 9960 I'll worry about the 8206 some other time.

I have made myself a basic parallel cable and IR reports it is working. Downloading from the remote seems to work, it reports URC-9960 Kameleon 2K EEPROM after downloading.

Ok... so would a USB cable be sufficient for both EEPROM and flash based remotes then? I'm ok at soldering and building even complex circuits but it is such an unbelievable hassle getting components where I live without mail-ordering them, so perhaps I should buy one. Then again, the crazy man ...

Thanks for your posts... I've been away for a while and not able to check here. I've bitten the bullet and soldered a 6 pin header onto the remote's circuit board so I can go the cable route as it all looks more comprehensive.
