Problems with Arduino interface? Potential partial fix!
I'm having trouble getting this to talk to an old-school JP1 interface. In the long distant past I had a Delcom interface that I would expose to a WinXP instance in a VM and use IR802. More recently I've been using RMIR and a JP1.3 remote, which works nicely in Linux, so I've not needed the windows ...

Doh! It's been a long time since I've done this stuff and I forgot that step. Which is silly 'cos I'm used to pressing POWER on my 8811 to active it. Thats why I detailed every step I did. I'll check that tonight when I get home.mdavej wrote:I’m not seeing where you activated the extender either.
Thanks!

It's finally happened...
I've finally worn out my last 8811 remote. I have 4 of them (bought 2 in 2002 and 2 more in 2009), and the keys on all of them have finally started failing.
So it looks like I might be in the market for the "next best thing".
I've tried a Nevo C2, but I don't really like it. And the lack of ...

AR 1540
Has anyone played with an Acoustic Research 1540 remote? This isn't a JP1 (as far as I know...)
I have a Sharp Air-Con with no remote. I found Robman's upgrade in the files section, and the forum entry that tells me how to change it to non-repeating. This appears to work fine on my 15-2104. So then ...

I think it is somewhat questionable to claim to "support" an IR gateway like the GlobalCache when the user is supposed to master its API himself, and enter commands like

Potentially offtopic - TCP controllable remote
In my dream world I'd like a remote that can be instructed over TCP. I already can control my receiver (via its serial port) and, of course, I can control my Mac iTunes instance. I can control the TiVo. But the TV, VluRay, DVD player... these can only be controlled by IR.

The 8811 is an original-style JP1 remote; if you build (or buy) a JP1 cable then you can load "upgrades" into it that will replace the learned commands. You can replace hundreds of bytes of learned data with a dozen bytes of upgrade, and free up the learned space. My 8811 controls 6 devices, none of ...

Samsung UN50EH6000
I recently got this TV and so needed build an upgrade for it. There's already a lot of Samsung upgrades in the file download area, and it seems Samsung haven't changed their codes during the years. The existing stuff worked fine... except for DiscreteOn/Off.
