Problems with Arduino interface? Potential partial fix!

I'm having trouble getting this to talk to an old-school JP1 interface. In the long distant past I had a Delcom interface that I would expose to a WinXP instance in a VM and use IR802. More recently I've been using RMIR and a JP1.3 remote, which works nicely in Linux, so I've not needed the windows ...

I'm not 100% sure the device multiplexer works properly... or else I'm using it wrong

Special Function
DVD Phantom7 Multiplex DVD:code1
DVD Phantom8 Multiplex DVD:code2

Macros

Ah the device multiplexer may work; I could set a macro on one key that sets the DVD device to the Samsung DVD player, and a macro on another key that sets it to the Sony BluRay.

From a user perspective it should look consistent; I just need to be a little careful with the macro chains.

Thanks!

Since I'm asking really really stupid questions, does this extender allow for hidden devices? My remote only has 5 devices, but I really have 6. Is there a way of doing this? I have a spare button I can use to select it :-)

Otherwise I guess I could create a phantom key move on a device that ...

I’m not seeing where you activated the extender either.
Doh! It's been a long time since I've done this stuff and I forgot that step. Which is silly 'cos I'm used to pressing POWER on my 8811 to active it. Thats why I detailed every step I did. I'll check that tonight when I get home.

Thanks ...

Please excuse me if I'm being dumb or missed this... I can't seem to get SHIFT keys working.

I have a Time Warner branded 1056B01.
I'm using RMIR 2.06build 2

I did a 981 reset on the remote to clear it.
Downloaded this to RMIR
Then did File->Install Extender -> 3X33-notes.hex
This seemed to go ...

It's finally happened...

I've finally worn out my last 8811 remote. I have 4 of them (bought 2 in 2002 and 2 more in 2009), and the keys on all of them have finally started failing.

So it looks like I might be in the market for the "next best thing".

I've tried a Nevo C2, but I don't really like it. And the lack of ...

AR 1540

Has anyone played with an Acoustic Research 1540 remote? This isn't a JP1 (as far as I know...)

I have a Sharp Air-Con with no remote. I found Robman's upgrade in the files section, and the forum entry that tells me how to change it to non-repeating. This appears to work fine on my 15-2104. So then ...

I think it is somewhat questionable to claim to "support" an IR gateway like the GlobalCache when the user is supposed to master its API himself, and enter commands like
Heh. Sounds like someone needs to write a software equivalent of a JP1 remote and allow it to be build using upgrades and codes ...

Thanks, I'll take a look at them.

Hmm, do any of them have "IR repeater" type adapters? Many of my devices aren't IP accessible and can only be controlled by IR. Having a controlling device would be fine, but obviously it'd need to be able to send IR signals :-)

Potentially offtopic - TCP controllable remote

In my dream world I'd like a remote that can be instructed over TCP. I already can control my receiver (via its serial port) and, of course, I can control my Mac iTunes instance. I can control the TiVo. But the TV, VluRay, DVD player... these can only be controlled by IR.

So what I'd like is some ...

The 8811 is an original-style JP1 remote; if you build (or buy) a JP1 cable then you can load "upgrades" into it that will replace the learned commands. You can replace hundreds of bytes of learned data with a dozen bytes of upgrade, and free up the learned space. My 8811 controls 6 devices, none of ...

Samsung UN50EH6000

I recently got this TV and so needed build an upgrade for it. There's already a lot of Samsung upgrades in the file download area, and it seems Samsung haven't changed their codes during the years. The existing stuff worked fine... except for DiscreteOn/Off.

Digging through old memories I ...
