Thanks Jon...

I did already uninstall the parallel port and let XP reinstall it. No fix.

I only used a DOS window to print, following directions on the XP troubleshooter. I'm not going to bother booting DOS.

Tonight I'll try replacing the cable first.

Thanks.

Well... now I don't feel so bad for being confused about the 8910's RF capacity!

Can JP1 cable fry my parallel port / cable?

Just yesterday, my wife noticed that she could no longer print to our HP 3100 LaserJet. This printer has always proved problematic with WINXP (driver problems), so I wasn't surprised.

It had been at least a week since we printed last, and over the weekend I had disconnected the printer and did a ...

I have one more question. If either of us were using a OFA 8910 instead of a 9910 would the signals from the 8910 be captured and transmitted by the RF base of the 9910?

Thanks
Laurier

Laurier...

I don't believe it will make a difference (Rob should confirm this).

I've been using the Radio ...

By addressable, I believe the OP means that your cable box (and you neighbors) may be able to be setup to respond to different remote control signals.

I don't know exactly how you would determine this, but posting the model of your cable box here, reviewing any documentation that came with it, and ...

Unfortunately, I suspect the irony would be lost on most who wouldnt' get one step past the red-white-and-blue you'd be wearing!

KACHING!!!

I knew almost immediately this would work when the device upgrade looked totally different after pasting (not getting the "Not mapped" message on the VOL and MUTE keys anymore).

Sure enough, it now works.

I'm guessing that I was just using and old , bad, RDF file... I never even had ...

Like I said... I believe I fully upgraded all the RDFs.

But let me delete everything and start over again. I'll even grab a clean Replay remote image from the other one I've never hacked.

OK... I've deleted every *.RDF occurance on my hard drive and downloaded the new RDFs from Yahoo again. And I ...

IR's title bar does indeed show "Replay....-ReplayTV 5000 Remote" so I don't believe I'm trying to load the 2117 to the R5K.

I can see the same raw data you do.... starting at address 0104. But if you say that's not where it should start, then I'll try uploading the device upgrade with a clean ...

When I go to the Devices tab, I do indeed see the TV 2000 setup and I copied it from KM like you said....

I even downloaded my dump directly from Yahoo to make sure I uploaded the correct one and I still see the upgrade on the devices tab. Maybe I need to use a new version of IR (I'm using 3.11 ...

So, what's the latest with DVA? My ReplayTV growth kinda stopped when they stopped supporting the 2000/3000 series. I never got into networked Replays, so I haven't even used DVA.

The latest release (3.0) of DVArchive includes two hot new features. The first is a web-server interface... you can ...

OK... let's see if I got this right...

Here's my link to the IR dump: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files/User%20Configurations/ReplayAmplifierVolume.txt

Definitely doesn't control the volume on anything for me right now.. and a re-checked my 2117 to make sure I am in fact using code 1308 for ...
