Randy, I cannot reproduce this. On pressing OK, protocol remains NEC1 134.5. Nothing I try changes this to NEC1 0. Can you please post the URC-3660 .rmir file that you are adding this upgrade to, and possibly the URC-3660 RDF in case yours differs from mine for some reason?

When this forum disappears, I will continue to maintain RMIR on SourceForge and will start to monitor Tickets, which I do not do at present. That will provide a route for discussion of RMIR-related issues.

I have posted development version RMIR v3.2.10 in the RMIR Development folder on SourceForge.

Randy, I have now posted development build RMIR v3.2.9 in the usual place. I have delayed posting this till now in case anything further cropped up to add to it, but nothing has. This should fix the issues you identified with v3.2.8. I would be grateful if you could check this and report back.

Not crazy . Thanks for spotting this, it was an unintended consequence of a minor change I made in v3.2.0. Fixed now for next build, subject to further testing.

It is neither recommended nor not recommended, it is simply unnecessary and of no significance. Multiple Java versions can exist simultaneously, they do not interfere with one another. You can uninstall one you never intend to use ...

I have fixed this for the next build.

I keep being told to update to JDK 24 which I have - more than once - yet also being told that doing so would update my "obsolete" JRE 8, which obviously it has not.
I don't know what you were expecting to happen with "updating your obsolete JRE 8". It clearly HAS been updated as RMIR now shows ...

Graham, for the small list of remotes for which RMIR cannot generate a new image, would it be a good idea to gather together a set of raw RMIR files from these remotes and include them with RMIR? Even better, if someone tries to create a new image, could RMIR just open one of those files?

Yes. I was getting confused by Mark continuing to mention Java Control Panel and Update Now. Update Now will never update to anything beyond Java 8. It is not an error, it is simply obsolete.

And why doesn't the "Update now" button in the Java CP find the newer version?
Because Oracle changed everything from Java 9 onward, including any links such as "Update now".
"Update now" DOES NOT WORK ANY LONGER. Ignore it and install Java 24. It is a jdk, there are no more separate runtime ...
