You said the driver you installed ( is it the FTDI driver?) makes the JP1.3 cable appear as COM3. That's all you need and is the port you should tell IR/RMIR to use for JP1.2/3
Thanks Greg for your input.
The driver I used was "JP1.2-1.3_USB_CABLE_DRIVER_INSTALLER" from diygadget downloads area ...

What setup for diygadget USB w/ JP1 adapter?
I've been searching for days now and can't seem to figure this out. I've programmed JP1 remotes for years but decided to upgrade my cable since parallel ports are hard to come by.
I bought a JP1.2/1.3 (FLASH) USB Cable and a JP1.2/1.3 to JP1 Adapter from diygadget thinking that I can use it for my ...

It looks like the protocol upgrade got truncated somehow, or you copied it before entering the PID and fixed data on the setup sheet.
I'll be damned...you're absolutely right! My final protocol code in KM matches what you showed in RM, but not what I put in IR. I pasted the corrected protocol code ...

You can then use this as on of the steps in your macro. You may have to use several of these in a row to obtain the necessary delay.
Maybe I wasn't clear on the problem I'm trying to solve...I'm not looking for a pause or delay between keypresses, I'm looking to "hold the power key down" and send ...

Need help with long duration power key
I have a URC-8910 using Extender 1. My Panasonic LCD TV (TV/250) seems to need a longer duration power key signal when it first starts up. It would power on if I physically push the power key when initially starting up, but not when I used the power key in a macro. I eventually determined that the ...

Thanks for the advice guys. I've actually had the remote for over a year already so doubt I would bother with trying to return it (secret society or not :) ). I'll give it a thorough check inside and if it still acts flaky then it's time for me to get a new remote (one that comes with pins already ...

This happens with all built in devices and an upgrade. My RCU810 doesn't have an LED so the only indication I have that it is sending anything is when the device responds. If I push and release the select key, nothing happens. If I push and hold it for 4-5 seconds, the device finally responds. When ...

Help with sticky keys
I have an RCA RCU810 with a JP1 plug added and have been able to reprogram my keys just fine. I have some problems with keys that seem "sticky" and am wondering if others have experienced this. 3 or 4 keys (up/down/select/guide) appear to do nothing when pushed *unless* you hold the key for 4-5 ...
