Idea for change to LKP protocol...

I think the main use of LKP is on the device keys.
Short = set remote to control a particular device
Long = Turn on/set inputs of home theater, and set remote to control a particular device

I originally used the LKP to call either of two global macros.
Once IR supported easy editting of LKP's, I ...

Simplified steps for trouble-shooting purposes:
- launch Remotemaster
- go to External Functions tab
- click New button
- type a name in the Name field (the name automatically appears in the EFC/Hex field also)
- EFC/Hex field can be editted, but the change doesn't stick (this happens whether the ...

Problem with external functions?

It seems as though the EFC/Hex field is acting like the Notes field. It just mirrors whatever is in the Name field. This also happened with 1.74.

I just tried it out, and the Audio:Mute LKP doesn't work without the two Dev-Aud's. This reminds me of a problem I ran into. I was going to have the macros on the device keys all call the same LKP on Aux:Phantom3, which would then call either of two DSM's. I tried it, but the LKP wouldn't work.

TV ...

Thanks to you both! You went well beyond the call of duty.

I'll look into reusing one pause value.
Moving the long macro into the LKP works well. I noticed you didn't move the DVD macro, did you run into the same ceiling of 12 steps that I did? Is that the correct number, or does ...

Running out of space on 15-2117, could use some help

I recently ran out of space on my remote. I came up with a strategy to free some space that worked pretty well, but has a limitation I am looking for help in overcoming.

My original setup had a macro on each device key, each calling its own LKP, which in turn called one of two macros.

The new ...

I have a Slingbox Pro. I am using Slingplayer 1.4.0.195. The IR Blaster version is 2, not 2.0 or 2.1, but "2". I used RemoteMaster 1.71 to create a .bin file. The JU version of the file didn't work, but the PL version did.

The remote image on the Layout tab of RemoteMaster doesn't match the remote ...

I'll look into getting rid of the RC5 Combo protocol. I did that with the Sony Combo protocol for my DVD megachanger, and saved quite a bit of space. This one seems a little more complicated though.

Thanks for tracking down CBL 1877. Here are some details:
36 of the codes use device 27

I followed your suggestion and ended up with a device upgrade that uses 38 bytes of upgrade memory and 5 bytes of keymove memory. My remote has 58 bytes of keymove free, but only 23 bytes of upgrade. I've already had to make some tradeoffs, so I am trying to be as memory conscious as possible with ...

I am in the exact same situation (15-2117 and USB-UIRT). Which built-in code would have the most buttons mapped?

Since all the image files will need to be updated to include the Phantom buttons, would this be a convenient time to consider mapping out the keysets (as mentioned here: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1202&highlight= )?
If it is doable, having it be something you can toggle on or ...

Proposal to develop a standard for common procedures

Here is a file that uses the new Notes feature in IR. It would be nice
to see extenders provided with a .IR file instead of a .txt file.

It seems the usual things a person wants to do when they start using an extender are ...
