Making NEC protocol put out only ONE repeat

I have this Neulion TV2000 IPTV box I'm trying to get working with a Vulkano. When you're on the STB's EPG, it interprets two identical digits (e.g. 11) as 3 identical digits. Increasing the spacing between adjacent digits just eventually winds up dropping a key.

I looked at the actual STB remote's ...

Hi Barf,

As I mentioned in my first post, "No", aka "Redo" is not working properly. I'm not convinced it has anything to do with the language, I just didn't implement it yet.

I think I'm going to stick with the concept of key groups as a starting point for quickly creating a set of keys for any ...

Thanks Alan. That "decode error" one is tricky because I have to try to force a decode error to occur and I'm not at all sure how to make it happen when I want to. Anyway as I mentioned previously it's still a little bumpy on handling less than ideal conditions. Keep the comments coming!

Hi Alan,

What about this concept?

You can select a set of groups. This translates to a list of key names. You can then show the whole list of key names thus created and then toggle them on or off individually. Then you could save that set as a user defined list which you could load any time you ...

Hi Alan,

Please go back and get 2.0.2.3 at the same link.

Here are the buttons contained within each group:

Digits = { "Digit 1", "Digit 2", "Digit 3", "Digit 4", "Digit 5", "Digit 6", "Digit 7", "Digit 8", "Digit 9", "Digit 0" };

Cursor = { "Arrow Up", "Arrow Right", "Arrow Down", "Arrow Left ...

Hi Alan,

Thanks for trying it out. What was happening was that it would cancel the current group of keys but continue with the next group.

I've fixed that issue - please download 2.0.2.2 from the same link and try it again.

IRScope 2.0.2.1 experimental, adds Capture Wizard function

Using IR scope to capture a lot of keys is quite tedious because you have to enter the notes manually one by one and do a lot of clicking on the UI.

I got the IR Scope source code and reached far back into my distant past, where I knew something about C++, to add this functionality.

To install ...

OK I probably need to take the blame myself.

I have been making some modifications to IR Scope to add a Wizard mode that will speed up capturing a whole remote's worth of keys.

There are some registry values that store where all the controls are located and since I added some controls in the top ...

JP1 experts ROCK!

Hi everyone, sorry I got sidetracked because yesterday I combined disabling the decoder with attempting to test the upgrade created by Vicky. Anyway I'm back on track with it now and as far as I can tell, the upgrade now acts the same way as the original remote. This is really encouraging. Now all I ...

Just to follow up again, regarding #2, some deranged maniac came in here in selected "Disable Decoder" in IR Scope. I wonder who that could have been?

Anyway it works MUCH better with that deselected.

OK, just to follow up here,

#1 I loaded the TXT file that Vicky posted into RM, reassigned the keys to buttons for the UEI Gondar chip, etc. and loaded it up to my Vulkano. When playing back into IR Scope, I am just getting "unknown protocol",

#2 HOWEVER - IR Scope itself seems a bit squirrely ...

IR Scope 2.01 acting a little bit strangely...

See the screen shot here.

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=9784

It started doing this about 2 weeks ago.

Downloaded it again, and extracted everything to a new folder, and same result. Anyone else seeing this?

I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Thanks,

DL
