I now know that to activate the extender, one must press TV-OK. When I upload my living room code to the remote and activate the extender, I get the 4 led flashes and the remote operates correctly.

Thanks for your help. I'll probably be back!

Rob and Mark , thanks for your replies.

Rob , yes I saved the factory RMIR file and yes, I was able to do a 981 reset. As an experiment, I set the TV device to 0812 and it controlled my Samsung TV properly. I then downloaded the remote to RMIR and did a 981 reset. As expected, it stopped ...

RCA RCRP05B Not Functional After Upload

Hi,

I've demoted myself to Beginner status since the last programming I did, while somewhat advanced (macros, special functions, etc.), was back in 2014.

I have two identical RCA RCRP05B remotes purchased back in 2014. One was programmed for my living room setup and the other remained sealed in ...

Thanks for the clarification, Bill and I agree that the Pause values look good.

Using and RCA RCRP05B remote, I measured the LKP delays using a scope as follows:
1 = 0.14 sec
2 = 0.27
3 = 0.40
4 = 0.52
7 = 0.94
8 = 1.1
11 = 1.5
15 = 2.0

I find that 4 or 5 gives me the button feel that I like ...

You're right, it's not. But it doesn't correspond to the values given in the extender readme file either.

Your delay for 8 is about the same as mine (RCA RCRP05B) and a delay value of 15 is about 2.25 sec, as near as I can measure with a watch.

So based on what several of you were saying, I took a step and started over with a fresh RCRP05B factory image, installed the Common v3.02 extender and uploaded it to the remote.

In this configuration, everything worked correctly, but the pause was interruptable. I applied the patch to disable this ...

Yes, I downloaded it a week or so ago. I'm assuming the one to use from here on out is the Common extender and not the RCRP05B v1.05, correct?

The 'long' LKP command sequence contains a Pause. If I hold the key long enough to activate the 'long' command set, the button is held down which cancels ...

I expect that when I enter 4 for the delay, I should have to press the key for longer than 3.04 secs for the 'long' command to be sent.

It seems as if the shortest time (or shorter) is always used, regardless of the duration setting.

I was trying to get the Pause working using the current tools rather than pasting from another forum user's code. Is this doable?

In any case, the ...

RPRC05B LKP duration not working

I'm using the Common v3.02 extender and RMIR.

I've assigned the LKP to DVD pip-ch+ key.
Short sends TV:1 key and long sends CBL:1, so I can see the each device LED flash when the commands are sent to observe the time delay.

The LKP duration setting makes no difference what it's set to but the LKP ...

I fixed the problem by cutting and pasting the code supplied by R2-M0 in thread:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=81579#81579

I wasn't able to create a new Pause using RM v2.02 Beta 1.5w since it wouldn't let me select an alternate PID for either one of the Pause protocols. I'm ...

Bill,

I've been working on 2 problems at once:
-- Getting the Pause spec. protocol to work on the RCRP05B
-- Making Pause not interruptable.

In solving the first by cutting and pasting the code supplied by R2-M0
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=81579#81579
it appears that the 2nd ...

Thanks for answering, Vicky. I pinged you directly since you posted the directions for changing the Pause protocol for the RCA RCRP05B.

I'm using RMIR.
I'm using the Common extender v3.02

I started by changing the RDF in two places:
1.) changed the 01FB in the special protocols section to 01FB ...

Yes, If found the JP instruction and applied the patch as you describe but the delay is not happening.

I've read that the $01FB protocol has an inherent conflict with the base remote and that the PID must be changed to $01F0. Is this correct? If so, how do I change it?

I tried to add this device and protocol but the original Pause is still called when I try to add the Special Function.

If I delete the original Pause device, the Special Function tab doesn't have a Pause function to choose from the drop-down menu.

Could you perhaps describe the correct procedure ...
