Okay, that clears some things up and brings up other questions.
There is no such thing as a JP1 file with the data i need. good to know.
I guess what i'm looking for is the simplest way for a user to accomplish the uploading of the data set, as that's the purpose of this device - simplicity ...

I built a wired remote extender/repeater out of a few simple parts available at radio shack. It does require both a wall-transformer for power and two wires going from where you want to point to the remote all the way to where you want the signal to wind up, but it works, doesn't need batteries ...
