Well, I never use flux...but, I do have a problem with it sticking to the iron and not the object that I'm soldering...so, that might help. I'll go get some and give it a shot.

As it turned out, the 'source' key was already defined and assigned on my remote to the 'TV/VCR' button. So, I created this headache over nothing. Thanks for your help.

code for diagnosis

I just tried to 'learn' the 'source' key on my Philips 5500 satellite receiver remote. When I upload it to IR and view the learned keys, I find this error message:

"This signal contains a section that IR doesn't know how to analyze. Please save this data and post it in the diagnostics sections of ...

I apologize.

I have an issue with my satellite remote and an issue with my receiver remote. I seem to be having a hard time keeping the two apart in my mind.

The problem was with the 'sat' key on the KLH remote. I will attempt to 'learn' it, and then find the EFC via IR, and then assign it via KM ...

Philips 5500 Satellite reciever

I have a Philips 5500 satellite receiver. It works if I use the code 1076, but the channel up and down keys don't appear to be mapped.

I found a new code for it at the Yahoo site: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files/3.%20Device%20Codes/Satellite/Philips-5500-SAT-1077.txt , but I appear to get ...

I don't know how I got that mixed up, but I was talking about the 'source' key'.

Anyway, I figured I would be able to map it via KM. Is there a tuturial available for KM?

Thanks.
