No, at least on all of the extenders that I know of

the setup codes that are in the ROM don't even know about XShifted keys and don't use the shifted keys either (at least none that I know of)

Barf

something interesting with this TV and this newly found protocol

So initially I had loaded up my Nevo with the NECx2 protocol and had reported here that I was having issues with some keys "bouncing". you suggested that I swap to NECx1, which I did

I then started having issues with ...

Metal and Motif work as expected

Nimbus has something odd going on with the size of the text box and you can't see what you're typing since the top 2/3 of it are cut off while you're typing. But once you finish it works as expected.

So I'll just stick with Metal and it'll solve this problem ...

Rob, I'm not talking about an EXCEL file but one that is an RM file that has something like 400 functions defined. I forget where I got it, but somewhere here someone did a whole lot of work finding codes for remotes with different ID numbers, for lots of different receivers, zones, etc.

Barf,

I ...

I forgot to follow up on the LaF change

I switched to the Motif change and then tried again. Tab behavior is exactly what you would expect it to be. I tab between fields and the first character does not get highlighted and the data is entered correctly.

So it's something about the MacOS look and ...

Suggestion: "Search" on the Functions, Buttons an

I downloaded a "master file" for Yamaha receivers and it has several hundred buttons defined for the different zones, remote ID's and the like.

When trying to find the stuff that I want to use to put on buttons I have to browse through these things and it's tedious and time consuming.

Some kind ...

I'm finding that I get a lot of "bouncing" on some buttons using NECx2 on my TV. (e.g. if I push the down arrow the cursor will move two unless I poke it very short). I suspect this has something to do with what barf reported above

One thing I noticed this morning while building another upgrade.

If the OBC that you are entering is only one digit/character then the tab behavior is as expected. That is the number is entered into the box, turns blue to highlight and then tab sends you to the next box and the entered text ...

1: unfortunately I do not have any Windows boxes to chec. This appears to be a bug in RM when adding functions to a device being edited/created (I have not seen this behavior elsewhere in RM or RMIR)

2: correct, this is the same behavior with two JVM's that I tried on this box as well as the JVM's ...

Vicky

For what it's worth, I DID find a Discrete Off, and it works, in my code search. It's OBC 152/Hex E6. So maybe not working is particular to your specific TV?

"Does the same misbehavior occur in IrScrutinizer, the Scrutinize remote/Parametric table?"

No, it does not. (give the same results)

Although it is not "right" in what I would consider good interaction design

If I capture a signal and then tab through the table when I get to the new cell it puts ...

Is there one of the Samsung TV files that has the most comprehensive list of discovered codes in it? I have been doing code searches and have found that there are a number of them that bring up "not available" on the screen when sent. Another I've found is "this app is not available in your region ...

needed a "-jar" in between specifying the java VM and the place to get RemoteMaster.

Using the JVM distributed as part of the IRScruitinizer package gives the same results

I don't know much about the Unix command line but when I do what you wrote above I get the following:

Also Barf, I don't know how to replace the JVM on MacOS since it comes with the OS when it's installed. How would I test this with another JVM version?
