Thanks for the feedback. I updated my original post.
I will try changing the batteries. I didn't realize they were weak, because, they worked on the PVR and the learning remote was learning the other signals. I'll try to used the OBC where I need it.

This was my first step in learning signals from ...

Symphonic 80GB PVR (NEC1)

So, I finally got a JP1 cable working on my second remote, an RCU810,
I had the remote learn codes from my Symphonic 80GB PVR. The remote was set to a VCR device, and I learned the number buttons to their matching buttons. This is what I got for 2 and 8.
What does this mean?

1: download the schematic of the simple JP1 parallel cable that you have and since you said you had a meter, make sure that the connections are right and that the cable isn't defective.

Since I ordered it from this site, I was assuming/hoping that it wouldn't have any problems, but really stuff ...

Thanks,

I tried the reboot... unfortunately, it didn't have any effect.

Hopefully you or someone else will have some additional experience to share.

*crosses fingers and waits for another tip*

Thanks.

Thats for the offset tip, it worked.
It turned out to be Sat code 0792 (0775+17).
Although some of the buttons weren't programmed with that code, so I still currently (until I get my jp1 cable working) need to use learned codes for some of the features, such as the seacrh (#) button.

The code for ...

Thanks for the quick reply!

See inline comments...

Soldering in the RCU810 is pretty straight forward, pull the remote apart, pull out the board, stuff the pins through the holes and solder on the back side. Make sure that you let the solder heat up enough so the joints are not "cold" there ...

Hi,

I'm going to push that rule about no question being too stupid...

Help with JP1 pins installed on RCU810

Hi,
I received my JP1 cable and pins.

Long story short, I can't get the software to read from the remote.
I wish there was more extensive instructions around soldering in the pins and testing them.

I am using Parallel Port Address: 378
which I assume is LPT1, the parallel port works fine with my ...
