I picked up a urc 7945 hoping to find a jp1 interface and make it more useful. I had some pogo pins from another project. So I plugged them in my jp1 adapter connector (only the four connected sockets) and tried the test point pads in the battery holder. Of course, I had to arrange to power the ...

I just got five TSMP58000 sensors from Digi-Key with $5 shipping with USPS. The total was $11.35 with tax. Another data point.

I have one of those OAR remotes, too. I think it's a well made remote, but I've never been able to get into it. It's missing two transport keys that I use. I may try to use it some day. The buttons feel good, too.

A while back I got an extra urc7880, so I decided to experiment. Here's what I'm currently using.

Essentially, I swapped two sections of buttons. I use the 1, 2, and 3 keys as A, Youtube, and Netflix keys, which I use as macro keys. The A ...

One of the reasons that I like the urc7880 is that the buttons are not actuated by the rubber button that you push. Here is a picture from the FCC that shows the little metal domes that actually make the contact. Another benefit of this is there's a certain amount of tactile feedback when you push a ...

Thank you. That sounds pretty understandable. :-) I'll work with it.

Edit: That worked perfectly. Thank you very much.

You are right, the only way to achieve the same thing on your remote is with Learned Signals. You don't actually need to learn the signal as RMIR can be used to create a learned signal from a function in a Device Upgrade, which is what I did for you. However, it takes several steps and the method ...

RMIR question about Download from Remote

I'm experimenting with more than one set of transport buttons. Specifically, I'm repurposing the keypad for transport buttons. The remote is a URC-7880. The version of RMIR is v2.13.5. I don't have any problem editing the device in RMIR and changing those keys in the remote. My question concerns ...

I needed another JP1.X cable. I had ordered these for another project that involved ttl console access.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LZV1G6K

They are CH340 based, but these didn't bring out RTS. So, I looked at the datasheet for the CH340G and RTS is on pin 14. Building it was very easy. I ...

This worked perfectly. Thank you so much for all your hard work. I used headers on my nano clone. I think I might solder the cable directly to make it a little more robust. But it certainly works.

I've used normal macros on the app shortcut keys (A, >, and N). I'm currently using DSMs on them without problems. Another data point.
