File - jp1x-serial-library-source-code-0.14.zip |
|
Description: |
This zip file contains the source code ('.cpp' and '.hpp', '.h') needed to create the serial (RS-232) library ('jp12serial.dll' for Windows and/or 'jp12serial.so' for Unix/Linux/Solaris/etc) used by utilities to communicate with JP1.x interfaces/remotes. This includes 'IR.exe', RemoteMaster-IR (RMIR), and various command-line utilities.
Brief build instructions are contained in the source file's initial comment block. This library has been successfully compiled with the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC), MinGW, and Microsoft Visual C++.

Thanks to test-compilations by 'wnewell' on his 64-bit Linux platform, it was discovered that I left off an important compile-time option on the build instructions for GCC and MinGW.
Please add '-fPIC' (to generate Position-Independent Code) when building this library yourself.
The corrected comment will be in the next release of this library's source code.
Sorry for the confusion....

Due to an even worse oversight on my part, I've had to upload a new version of the zip file. None of the previous files have changed. The new zip file includes a missing header file ('com_hifiremote_jp1_io_JP12Serial.h') needed to successfully compile the Java portions of the library, which is needed for RMIR (but not 'IR.exe').
Thanks to 'wnewell' for detecting this and Greg Bush for a gentle reminder about the source of the error.
