JP1 Remotes Forum Index -> File Section -> JP1 File Section -> ReplayTV -> ReplayTV RID Files -> Pace DC50X DTA [Comcast]
File - Pace DC50X DTA [Comcast]
Description: Pace DC50X Digital Transport Adapter (DTA) - Comcast
XMP 62.16
Codes: 0, 1-9, ENTER, PWRON, PWROFF
(PWR codes just in case anyone actually has a 'full' version of this silly box.)

[You can also make this a 1-file installation by renaming this RID *AND* changing its internal code number so it matches some other original factory code native to your ReplayTV, then REPLACE the original factory cable RID file with the new one.]

Here are some updated SourceForge links (from the original README):
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Almost all were within the RTVpatch project:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/rtvpatch/files/

The ISO referred to is now here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/rtvpatch/files/RTVPatch/linux-cd-image-2.5.5d.iso/download

The extract_rtv links are now here:
extract_rtv5 (new version PC/Mac):
http://sourceforge.net/projects/rtvpatch/files/extract_rtv5/extract_rtv_78.zip/download
http://sourceforge.net/projects/rtvpatch/files/extract_rtv5/extract_rtv_78_osx.zip/download
extract_rtv (old version PC/Mac):
http://sourceforge.net/projects/rtvpatch/files/extract_rtv/extract_rtv_v16.zip/download
http://sourceforge.net/projects/rtvpatch/files/extract_rtv/extract_rtv_16_osx.zip/download

Also, httpfs is part of the ReplayPC program suite:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/replaypc/files/
-------------------------------------------------------------------

If are not comfortable with a hexeditor and would prefer REPLACING your 5K's "Pace" code I've prepared another copy of the DC50X RID (as cable code 0237) here:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=16723318

Installing a RID file with HTTPFS (considering a small Photo partition):

[Step 1: Get the RID file into your RTV (on it's HDD) by uploading the file.]
For the 1-file install on a 5K (assuming "httpfs.exe" and a properly prepared copy of the DC50X RID as "C0237fi.rid" are in the current directory):
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
httpfs -a <RTV_IP> -s 520411140 writefile -f C0237fi.rid /Photo/C0237fi.rid
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(The -s version string may need to be changed for 4K's.)

[Step 2: Get the RID file into your RTV's (normally inaccessible) system directory with a copy shellcmd via WiRNS or PTVIO.]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
cp -f /name/storage/Photo/C0237fi.rid /name/system/user/mirror/sys-setup-gaea/data/irCodeset/C0237fi.rid
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Notice I made no 'install' directory in the first step (to preserve 1 cluster) and adjusted the final shellcmd accordingly.)

Installing a RID file with EXTRACT_RTV (no Photo partition):

If you have insufficient room on your ReplayTV's Photo partition (4K/5K) and want to maintain your recordings then download extract_rtv5.
According to the README:
--------------------------------------------------
USAGE: extract_rtv <devicename> <options>
...
-e extract all files
-e filename extract single file or subdirectory
...
-w filename localfile
overwrite filename with localfile
...
In Windows2000 or WinXP use:
\\.\PhysicalDrive0 First hard drive
....
--------------------------------------------------

Be CERTAIN of your RTV HDD's devicename when its plugged into your PC! Because the new RID file will be (over-)written directly onto a file within the RTV HDD's system folder you do not need to issue any shellcmds (WiRNS/PTVIO) to complete the installation.

To make a backup copy of the sacrificial target RID (assuming 1-file install). This will also help you verify the correct devicename of your RTV HDD (optional, but highly recommended):
------------------------------------------------------
extract_rtv5 <devicename> -e /name/system/user/mirror/sys-setup-gaea/data/irCodeset/C0237fi.rid
------------------------------------------------------
(It's been years since I've used this program and I cannot recall if it accepts a target filename, or assumes the same filename as the source and writes it to the current directory.)

Place your RTV 5K's original "C0237fi.rid" in a safe place, then get a properly prepared copy of the DC50X RID as "C0237fi.rid".

For the 1-file install on a 5K (assuming "extract_rtv5.exe" and "C0237fi.rid" are in the current directory):
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
extract_rtv5 <devicename> -w /name/system/user/mirror/sys-setup-gaea/data/irCodeset/C0237fi.rid C0237fi.rid
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*OR*, rely on extract_rtv's ability to auto-detect your RTV HDD (risky in my opinion):
----------------------------------------------------------------
extract_rtv5 -w /name/system/user/mirror/sys-setup-gaea/data/irCodeset/C0237fi.rid C0237fi.rid
----------------------------------------------------------------

I'ts been called to my attention that I forgot the '-p1' option for extract_rtv.

The corrected command-lines for extract_rtv would be:

extract_rtv5 <devicename> -p1 -e /name/system/user/mirror/sys-setup-gaea/data/irCodeset/C0237fi.rid
extract_rtv5 <devicename> -p1 -w /name/system/user/mirror/sys-setup-gaea/data/irCodeset/C0237fi.rid C0237fi.rid
extract_rtv5 -p1 -w /name/system/user/mirror/sys-setup-gaea/data/irCodeset/C0237fi.rid C0237fi.rid

I'ts been called to my attention again that the extract_rtv parameters I gave were incorrect.

After correcting the raw file path the command-lines for extract_rtv should be:

extract_rtv5 <devicename> -p1 -e /user/mirror/sys-setup-gaea/data/irCodeset/C0237fi.rid
extract_rtv5 <devicename> -p1 -w /user/mirror/sys-setup-gaea/data/irCodeset/C0237fi.rid C0237fi.rid
extract_rtv5 -p1 -w /user/mirror/sys-setup-gaea/data/irCodeset/C0237fi.rid C0237fi.rid
