Detail: The slingbox wizards complains that it cannot retrieve this custom ir code, "please try another" That is, if it even recognizes and reacts to the entry. (having experimented through rm with different configurations of "device type" and slingbox chip types.
(fyi-Ive sucessfully completed the process of importing ir codes from .bin files in the "sbav" folder for other devices, so you know not to send me through those troubleshooting steps. ) What happens in this case:
In the sling setup, "device type" options are limited to dvd-player;dvr; miscellaneous, etc. I choose misc., because its the closest appropriate type. The others dont provide correct functionality. Then i choose "other" through the following steps, until i end up at the "custom code" option, where if sucessful, the sling wizard will normally retrieve the entry form the name of the corresponding .bin file in sbav folder. In this case, i get "cannot retrieve or error, or no reaction", depending on the format i export it in from rm. |
