This is version 2.00 of the extender installer for the URC7980. The purpose of both this and version 1.00 is to allow the remote to make full use of the Bluetooth interface to RMIR. Version 2.00 is required by Bluetooth access that uses the built-in Microsoft Bluetooth stack of Windows 10, version 1.00 is sufficient for other access such as through the Bluegiga BLED112 dongle. Version 2.00 can be used where version 1.00 is sufficient, but it provides no additional features in that situation.
Version 2.00 is supplied as a .rmir file and so needs a JP1.x cable for its installation. Version 1.00 is supplied as a .hex file that does not need a cable, as it is installed through the Bluetooth facilities that operate without the extender. The zip package includes a ReadMe that gives a detailed explanation of the installation procedures and relationship between the two versions. Neither extender, when installed, takes up any room in the user memory of the remote and the installer can be deleted after use.
